Jim was born in Birmingham AL. He also lived in Knoxville TN, Portland OR and Baton Rouge LA, but he called Charlotte NC home where he was known as "Jim the hair guy". A successful hairstylist and respected business owner. He was hairstylist of the year in 2022 & 2023 and received multiple business awards. He was a national finalist for

A successful hairstylist and respected business owner. He was hairstylist of the year in 2022 & 2023 and received multiple business awards. He was a national finalist for the TV show "hairstyle, the talent show " in NYC. He was a self-proclaimed entertainer. He loved to be on stage as a singer, piano player and a drag queen allowing him a few national tours and claiming the titles of Mr. Gay Pride (1997), Mr. Apollo (2001) and 1st runner up Mr. National Apollo (2002). He enjoyed extreme sports; skydiving, hang-gliding, Nascar, horseback riding and had a love for classic muscle cars. He also loved his vodka/cranberry with a shot of Jager.
Jim is preceded in death by his husband, Micheal Bergob; mother, Diane Thomason; best friend/partner, Gary Adams; friend, Adon Spears; and his three-legged poodle, Peg.
He is survived by no one.
Jim died homeless, alone in his car from cognitive complications resulting from a stroke he suffered on Oct 6, 2023
